I announce here that I will hold a demonstration protest against Fuji Television’s bias tendency, in the way they telecast programs, on 17 September.

           -17 September 13:00 in front of Fuji Television’s head office-
This demonstration represents protest against Fuji’s distortional tendency includes the facts in below.

*There was an unusual arrangement in the world championship meet of figure skating in 2011. The arrangement was for the huge earth quake occurred on 11 March in Japan; people paid silent tribute for the victims and cheered the sufferers. However, not only Fuji didn’t telecast it, they telecasted a special edition of Yona Kim, who actually didn’t participate in the arrangement.

*They also did not telecast a commendation ceremony when a Japanese player won a championship of figure skating prior to then.

*There is a suspicion that they have driven an actor who had made a bitter comment about too many programs related to Korea to resign the production company to which he belonged.

*They have mobilized volunteers for rebuilding after the earth quake, who were unconnected to Fuji’s program, to set up for Fuji's program called 27 Jikan Televi (27 Hours Television).

*There is a suspicion that an employee of Fuji Television embezzles presents for viewers and sell them by auctions, getting illicit profits.

*There is a suspicion that they are breaking the Broadcasting Low in their stock’s percentage of possession by foreigners.

*They answer viewer’s questions connected to these topics in inappropriate way: inflammatory statements or hanging up unilaterally.

          We consider media includes TV station, to be important in order to offer accurate information and keep democratism working properly. We cannot accept these situations mentioned above because it makes doubts that information which should be offered are not offered or distorted. Therefore we will hold the demonstration protest against them and require them to contribute to keep democratism in Japan as media; for instance, to clarify the process of program production, to offer an open space for discussion about programs and company, or to clarify and open the flow of funds including advertising agencies.

5 long days have passed from starting up. All members have discussions many times for the demonstration.　Anyway, I’m going to inform you about the detail of coordinating the held date, and comments on 2ch.

*About the Date

Since there are a lot of events in Odaiba, the sad 9.11, and demonstrations against nuclear power, we have really few choices in September. We struggle on the aim to hold demo on 17 September in this situation, and now I think I can announce the exact date in the first of next week. It is definitely sure that we can hold a demo in September, whether we will be able to have a permission of 17 or not. I am really sorry about the late announcement. Please wait a little more. In order to being able to announce good news, we will work hard.

*About Financial Donation

I have read that some people were discussing about financial support. All of us are much obliged to you for thinking about it while making a living. However, we do not receive any financial donation as the latest committee did not. It is because we want to ensure transparency as this is an operating committee of ordinary people. For donations in kind, I will inform you here when we get ready to receive. I announced here quickly with thanks from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your understanding.

I am Bocchi, the representative of Operating Committee of Protest Demonstration against Fuji Television.

We started up on 28 August in order to continue protesting against Fuji’s distortional tendency, and to follow the latest operating committee. We will do our best to realize the demonstration of the ordinary people, by the ordinary people, for the ordinary people, safely. Please take part in the demonstration if you agree with us. Although there are few information of notice or the system of committee, we will update them when the exact plan is decided. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Q1：What is the purpose of the demonstration?
A：Basically we are against the tendency of Fuji Television in the way
    they telecast programs. We also complain about a lot of things
    related to Fuji Television.

Q2：Where will the demonstration be held in?
A：It will be held in Odaiba, in which Fuji Television is located.

Q3：Is this demonstration promoted by a demonstration organization?
A：No, it started from the Internet and no professional demonstration
    organization is planning it. We are just ordinary people planning and
    demonstrating for ourselves.

Q4：Does participation in demo cost money?
A：You don’t need any. We pay for it and neither do we correct bills nor
    selling goods.

Q5：On which date will the demonstration be held?
A：We are going to demonstrate on 17 September, at 13:00.

Q6：Will you distribute it via “Niko Nama”?*1
Ａ：We are not plannning to do so for now.
     *1 Niko Nama: live broadcasting on Nikoniko Douga, which is one
      of the most famous video-sharing websites.

Q7：Will you cooperate with the demonstration against Kaou?
A：Yes; their work is related to Fuji Television.

Q8：Will it be different from the last demonstration?
A：You can think that it will be mostly the same as before; we were
    started up as taking over the concept of it.

Q9：Did you decide the detail of chanting in chorus?
A：Not yet, and we are not going to include anything negative
   about Korea.

Q10：Why not?
A：It is because of the concept of the demonstration, which is
   “to protest against to Fuji Television’s distortional tendency”.
